One Centre Square celebrated a memorable Family Day Out: A day of fun, gratitude, and community support.

Despite the weather challenges, our inaugural Family Day Out on 7th May turned out to be a remarkable event filled with exhilarating performances, engaging activities, and a strong sense of community.

The event kicked off with a burst of energy as the local dance group, DANCE LEGACY, took the stage, captivating the audience with their mesmerizing choreography and impressive moves. The crowd was enthralled as they showcased their talent and passion for dance, setting the tone for an exciting day ahead.

The festivities continued with a mesmerizing display by Indigenous Outreach Projects, who shared their rich cultural heritage through storytelling, music, and traditional dances. The vibrant colors and rhythmic beats transported everyone to a world of ancient traditions and deep-rooted connections to the land.

Adding to the entertainment lineup, Melbourne Stars, the renowned cricket team, delighted the crowd with their cricket-themed activities and interactive sessions. Families had the opportunity to meet and interact with the team reps, gaining valuable insights into the world of professional cricket and igniting the passion for the sport in young enthusiasts.

Throughout the event, families were treated to an array of exciting activities that kept everyone entertained. Fun Farm 2 U created a mini petting zoo, where children had the chance to get up close and personal with adorable farm animals, fostering a sense of wonder and connection with nature.

For those with a sweet tooth, OMG Decadent Donuts and one of our most beloved tenants, Central Fish and Chips, stole the show with their delectable combos. The aroma of the winning potato twists from Central Fish and Chips and the freshly-baked donuts wafted through the air as families indulged in these mouthwatering treats, savouring each delicious bite.

The Officer Fire Brigade’s thrilling demonstrations and interactive firefighting experiences were a favorite of the day. Children eagerly donned miniature firefighter gear and got a taste of what it’s like to be a real-life hero, igniting dreams and aspirations.

Our community’s vibrant business scene played a crucial role in making the Family Day Out a resounding success. Local eateries, including Aladdin Café, Bakery & Lounge, Central Fish & Chips, Chathly’s Kitchen, Masala Bar & Grill, and Pizza Porchetto Officer, generously sponsored the event and tantalized taste buds with their lucky draw offerings. From savory delights to culinary delights, the local food scene showcased the diverse flavors that thrive in our neighborhood.

One of the most heartwarming aspects of the Family Day Out was witnessing the incredible unity and support of the community. Despite the weather challenges, families and friends flocked to the event, undeterred, and created an atmosphere of joy, laughter, and camaraderie. The unwavering spirit of togetherness was a testament to the strong bonds that exist within our neighborhood and the surrounding suburbs.

As we reflect on the inaugural Family Day Out, we eagerly anticipate future events that will continue to bring our community together. We are committed to listening to your feedback and suggestions as we strive to create even more engaging and memorable experiences for everyone.
